- [ رُوِيَ ] عن عامر الشعبي [ أَنَّهُ ] قال : " تَكـَلَّمَ أميرُ المؤمنين عليه السلام بِـتِسْعِ كلماتٍ إرْتَـجَـلَهُنَّ ارتِجالاً ، فَـقَـأنَ عُيونَ البَلاغَة ، وأَيْتَـمْنَ جَواهِر الحِكْمَة ، وقَطَعْنَ جميعَ الأَنامِ عَنِ اللحَاقِ بِواحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنّ :
It was narrated that Aamer Al-Shabi said: The prince of the righteous (peace be upon) him mentioned nine sentences without any preparation which was above and beyond Articulateness, it orphaned the jewels of wisdom in a manner that none could catch up with one of these sentences:
ـ ثَلاثٌ مِنْـهَا فِي المُـنَاجَاة ،
ـ وثلاث منها في الحِكْـمَة ،
ـ وثلاث مـنها فـي الأَدَب ،
- Three (sentences) in Supplication,
- Three (sentences) in Wisdom,
- Three (sentences) in Literature (politeness).
1ـ فَـأَمَّا اللاتي في المُـنَاجَاة فَقَال :
《 إلهي كَفَى بِي عِزّاً أَنْ أَكُونَ لَكَ عَـبْداً ،
وَ كَفَى بِي فَخْراً أَنْ تَكُونَ لِي ربّاً ،
أَنْتَ كَمَا أحِبّ فَاجْعَـلْنِي كَـمَا تُحِبّ ! 》،
1- In reference to the sentences in supplication , he said:
- My God, it suffices me honor to be your servant
- And it suffices me pride that you are my God
- You are as I hope; make me as You hope (as you like me to be).
2 ـ وأَمَّا اللاتي في الحِكْمَة فقال:
《 قِيمَةُ كُلِّ امْرِیءٍ مَا يُحْسِنُهُ ،
ومَا هـَلَكَ امْرُؤٌ عَرَفَ قَدْرَهُ ،
والمَرْءُ مَخْـبُوءٌ تحتَ لِسَانِه 》،
2- In reference to the sentences in wisdom, he said:
- The value of each person is what he/she is good at. – You are what you do. –
- He who knows his limits will not perish. (Ruined)
- A person is shielded by his tongue (by what he/she say). A persons tongue is his undercover– you are what you say-
3 ـ واللاتي فِي الأَدَب فقال :
《 اُمْـنُنْ عَـلَى مَنْ شِئْتَ تَكُنْ أَمِيرهُ ،
واسْـتَغْنِ عَمَّنْ شِئْتَ تَكُنْ نَظِيرهُ ،
واحْـتَجْ إِلى مَنْ شِئْتَ تَـكُنْ أَسِيره 》."
3- In reference to the sentences in literature (politeness), he said:
- Do well unto whomever you chose, and you will become his prince. (You will own him)
- Need not anyone, and you will be his counterpart,
- And if you ever needed anyone you will become his prisoner ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ

ـ كَلِمَات : المَقْصُود هـُنَا الجُـمَل .
ـ إرْتَـجَـلَهُنَّ : إرتجلَ الكلامَ : تكلَّمَ بِهِ مِنْ غَـيْرِ أَنْ يُـحَضِّرَهُ .
ـ فَـقَـأنَ : فَقـَأَ العين : قـَلَعَها .
ـ البَلاغَة : الفَصَاحَة ، وهي البيان وصَفَاءُ الكلام من التعقيد .
ـ أَيْتَـمْنَ جَواهِر الحِكْمَة : جَعَلْنَهَا يَتيمَة .
ـ قَطَعْنَ : مـَنَعْنَ َ.
ـ الأَنام : الناس .
ـ المُـنَاجَاة : الدعاء والتحدث مع الله .
ـ مَـخْبُوء : مستور ومخفيّ .
ـ اُمْـنُنْ : مَنَّ عليه بالشيء : أَنْعَمَ عليهِ بِهِ مِنْ غيرِ تعب . ـ نظيره : النظير هو المِـثل و المُسَاوي .
